Second place in national
competition to Year 12 student



Isaac Stone is a Year 12 student who recently gained second place for his composition 'Overture to the Merchant of Venice' in a national competition run by the Sheila Winn Shakespeare competition. He received his award on Sunday night, June 5th, 2005. In addition to that, his composition 'Contrasting Worlds' has been selected in a prestigious competition with the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra.

Isaac is a member of the 2005/6 Secondary Students' choir which will travel to China, and he is a lead in the Tawa College production of 'Oliver' (scheduled for August 2005). He plays trombone in Jazz Band and Concert Band, plays piano for the Extension Chords, and sings in Dawn Chorus, Acafellas and Morning Stars.
